Hyatt Promotion: How to Earn Up to 36,000 Bonus Points

If you have a Hyatt stay on the calendar before mid-December and you haven’t clicked one registration button, you’re leaving free World of Hyatt points on the table. The current Hyatt promotion pays 3,000 bonus points for every 3 nights, up to 36,000 points, and it counts award nights too.

On top of that, Hyatt quietly rebuilt its new hotel bonus on October 1, 2026. The old flat 500 points per night is gone, replaced by double points on a special rate. For the right stay, that is worth several times more. Here’s how both offers work, what they’re actually worth, and how to stack them.

Offer details verified October 17, 2026.

How the Hyatt Promotion Works: 3,000 Bonus Points Every 3 Nights

The global World of Hyatt promotion runs from September 29 to December 15, 2026. After you register, you earn 3,000 bonus points each time you complete three eligible nights, up to a maximum of 36,000 bonus points, which means 36 nights maxes it out.

Register at hyatt.com/3k-bonus-points. Registration and qualifying stays both close on December 15, 2026.

The rules that actually matter for you:

  • Register before you stay. Only nights completed after registration count. A stay you booked weeks ago still qualifies, as long as you register before the nights happen.
  • Nights don’t need to be consecutive. A 2-night weekend plus a 1-night business trip adds up to one 3-night block.
  • Award nights count. Points stays and free night certificates are eligible nights, which is unusual for a hotel promo.
  • The bonus starts with your first stay. Hyatt’s summer 2026 promo skipped your first stay and capped out lower, so this one is friendlier.
  • One room per night. You won’t earn extra for booking multiple rooms the same night.
  • Stays that run past December 15 still earn on the nights before the cutoff, provided the stay ends by June 15, 2027.
  • It works almost everywhere. All participating Hyatt hotels, plus participating Mr & Mrs Smith hotels, The Venetian Resort and Homes & Hideaways.

One catch worth knowing: the bonus is paid per completed block of three. Finish the promo with 5 eligible nights and you still get 3,000 points, not 5,000. Bonus points typically post within 2 to 3 weeks after each qualifying stay.

These 3,000 points are on top of your regular earning. Base members earn 5 World of Hyatt points per dollar on eligible spend, Discoverists earn 5.5, Explorists 6, and Globalists 6.5.

Hyatt New Hotel Bonus: Double Points Up to 25,000 Per Stay

As of October 1, 2026, Hyatt dropped its automatic 500 bonus points per night at newly opened hotels. In its place, you earn double points when you book the “New Hotel Member Bonus Offer” rate at a participating property, capped at 25,000 bonus points per stay.

You’ll find the current list of eligible properties on Hyatt’s new hotels offer page. There’s no registration, but the rate itself is the trigger. Book any other rate and you get nothing extra.

How the mechanics work, based on the terms:

  • Hyatt matches your base points on eligible room rates and incidental charges billed to the room.
  • Your elite bonus is not doubled. A Globalist’s 30% bonus is still calculated on base points only.
  • Up to three rooms count, including your own.
  • Consecutive nights at the same hotel are one stay, even if you check out and back in, so the 25,000 cap can’t be reset that way.
  • Bonus points post 2 to 4 weeks after checkout.
  • Award stays lose out. Under the old offer, a points stay at a new hotel still earned 500 points a night. Now it earns nothing extra, because there’s no cash spend to double.

The breakeven is simple. Most Hyatt brands earn 5 base points per dollar, so the new offer adds 5 bonus points per dollar. Spend more than $100 per night in eligible charges and you beat the old 500-point bonus. Below that, especially at Hyatt Studios where base earning is 2.5 points per dollar, you come out behind.

One more thing to check: the bonus rate isn’t always the cheapest rate on the page, and it can’t be combined with other discounts. Compare it against the best flexible rate before you book.

Hyatt Promotion vs New Hotel Bonus: Side by Side

The two offers reward different behavior: the 3,000-point promo rewards nights, while the new hotel bonus rewards cash spend.

How Much Are These Hyatt Bonus Points Worth?

Here’s a real-world example: a 3-night paid stay at $300 per night ($900 eligible spend), registered for the promo. The right column assumes the hotel is a participating new property and you booked the bonus rate.

Status Regular Hyatt (base + elite + promo) New Hyatt on bonus rate (adds 4,500)
Member (5x) 7,500 points 12,000 points
Discoverist (5.5x) 7,950 points 12,450 points
Explorist (6x) 8,400 points 12,900 points
Globalist (6.5x) 8,850 points 13,350 points

At an estimated 1.5 cents per World of Hyatt point, 12,000 points is worth about $180, roughly 20% back on a $900 stay. Under the old new hotel offer, those same three nights would have earned just 1,500 bonus points instead of 4,500. If you’re still deciding how to value your balance, see why buying Hyatt points can make sense.

For award stays, the math is cleaner. Every 3 award nights during the promo earns 3,000 bonus points, which works out to about $45 back per three nights at the same estimate. That’s effectively a partial rebate on points you were already spending.

If you max out the promo at 36 nights, the 36,000 bonus points are worth around $540 at 1.5 cents each. Valuations vary, so treat these as estimates rather than guarantees.

Can you stack both offers on the same stay? Nothing in the terms we reviewed excludes it, since a new hotel stay on the bonus rate is still an eligible Hyatt night. Hyatt hasn’t explicitly confirmed it either, so check your account after the first qualifying stay.

Other World of Hyatt Offers to Register For Right Now

While you’re logged in, a few targeted Hyatt offers are also running. Each needs its own registration, and terms vary, so read the offer page before you book.

  • Hyatt House and Hyatt Studios: bonus points on stays of 5 or more nights, through December 31, 2026 (offer page).
  • Under Canvas glamping: a points rebate plus bonus airline miles, through December 1, 2026.
  • Latin America and the Caribbean: a free award night after every 3 resort nights, through March 31, 2027 (offer page).

Confirm eligible hotels and dates on each offer page before you plan around them.

6 Tips to Maximize This Hyatt Promotion

  1. Register today, even with no stay booked. It costs nothing, and only nights after registration count. If a last-minute trip comes up in November, you’re already enrolled.
  2. Plan in blocks of three. The bonus pays per completed set of 3 nights. If you’re sitting at 5 eligible nights, one more cheap night before December 15 earns another 3,000 points.
  3. Burn your free night certificates now. Award nights and free night certificates count toward the promo, so using a certificate before mid-December earns you points on a night you didn’t pay cash for. Check current pricing in our World of Hyatt award chart guide.
  4. Search for the bonus rate at new hotels. If you’re staying at a recently opened Hyatt, look specifically for the “New Hotel Member Bonus Offer” rate. Compare its price against the standard flexible rate before choosing.
  5. Pay cash at new hotels, points elsewhere. Award stays don’t earn the new hotel bonus anymore. Save your points for regular properties where cash rates are high, and if you’re a few points short, you can now transfer Hyatt points online from a partner’s account.
  6. Charge incidentals to your room. Eligible incidental charges count toward double points at new hotels, so a dinner or spa visit billed to the room can boost your bonus.

Takeaway

The 3,000-points-every-3-nights Hyatt promotion isn’t huge, at roughly 1,000 bonus points per night, but it’s free money for anyone with a Hyatt stay before December 15, 2026. The fact that award nights count makes it more useful than most hotel promos.

The new hotel double points offer is the bigger story. For paid stays above about $100 a night, it beats the old 500-point bonus easily, and at $300 a night it triples it. If you redeem points at new hotels, though, you’ve lost a small perk.

Your move: register for the promotion, check whether any upcoming stay is at a new Hyatt, and book the bonus rate when the price makes sense.
