Miles and Points Guru is an independent travel rewards publication owned and operated by Ali Raja. We publish guides, news, and strategy about credit card points, airline miles, hotel loyalty programs, and award travel. This page explains how the site makes money and how we keep that separate from our editorial content, in line with the Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).
How we make money
Affiliate links
Many links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one and then apply for a product, make a purchase, or create an account, the company may pay us a commission. Our affiliate partners include, or may include, credit card issuers and card affiliate networks, travel booking and award search tools, eSIM and travel connectivity providers, VPN services, tour and activity platforms, and retailers such as Amazon.
Referral links
Some links are personal referral links, such as a credit card “refer a friend” link. If you are approved through one of these links, Ali may receive bonus points, miles, or cash back from the issuer. Using a referral link never reduces the offer available to you, and we will always tell you when a link is a referral link.
Advertising
We may display ads served by third parties, including Google AdSense and Travelpayouts. Advertisers do not choose the topics we cover or what we say about any product. See our Privacy Policy for how these ad partners use cookies.
Sponsored content
If a company pays us to create or publish content, that content will be clearly labeled “Sponsored” or “Paid partnership” at the top of the post or video.
Free products, trips, and stays
If we receive a product, a hotel stay, a flight, or a trip for free or at a reduced rate, we will say so in the content about it. Unless stated otherwise, the trips and stays we review are paid for with our own money, points, or miles.
Our own products
We sell our own digital products and 1:1 strategy sessions through our Stan store. When we recommend our own products, that is a promotion of our own business.
